Ryan Anderson is playing well this season for the Orlando Magic

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 29 December 2009 at 2:36 pm

Forward Ryan Anderson was thought to be a throw in and little more in the Vince Carter trade with the Nets but he is really playing well this year. Anderson has played in 25 games (6 starts) for the Magic this season and he is averaging 17.2 minutes, 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. Anderson looks like he will be a future starter for the Magic but for now they just need him to keep up the outstanding work off the bench.

Boston Celtics 86, Orlando Magic 77

The Magic only shot 33.3% from the floor yesterday and it killed them in the end. Vince Carter led the way for the Magic yesterday with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. Rashard Lewis also had a solid game with 19 points and 3 rebounds. Dwight Howard only shot 1 of 7 from the floor as he finished up with 5 points, 20 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 4 blocked shots. The Magic are now 22-8 on the year.

Orlando Magic 102, Houston Rockets 87

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Wednesday 23 December 2009 at 10:31 pm

The Magic outrebounded the Rockets 49-37 and they held them to 39% shooting from the floor which were the biggest reasons for the win tonight. Vince Carter led the way for the Magic tonight with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Jameer Nelson got his first start in a long time tonight (injury) and he finished up with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Dwight Howard was a beast in the paint with 13 points, 20 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocked shots. The Magic are now 22-7 on the year.

Rashard Lewis is not playing up to his ability yet for the Orlando Magic

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Tuesday 22 December 2009 at 10:09 am

Rashard Lewis is looking a little rusty since his return from a league suspension for using performance enhancing drugs. He has played in 18 games (all starts) for the Magic this season and he is averaging 33.3 minutes, 15.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Lewis is still shooting well from three point range hitting 40.9% from behind the arc. When Lewis picks up his game, because it is coming, then lookout for the Magic who will start playing better than they are right now which is pretty hard to believe.

Vince Carter is leading the Orlando Magic in scoring but…………….

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Need to step up by alleyoop on Tuesday 22 December 2009 at 10:06 am

Vince Carter is leading the Magic in scoring this season but he is shooting awful this season hitting only 39.9% from the floor and 33.6% from three point range. Carter has played in 24 games (23 starts) for the Magic this season and he is averaging 31.7 minutes, 18.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. If he can get his shooting % up to 45% from the floor then the Magic will really be a good offensive basketball team.

The Orlando Magic (21-7) caught some fire from behind the arc in the second half, helping them beat the Utah Jazz (16-12).  J.J. Redick came off the bench and shot the ball lights out.  He hit 7-9, including 2-2 from three, on his way to 20 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal in 24 minutes.  Rashard Lewis also shot well and the magic hit 49% of their FG’s and 43% of their threes.  Dwight Howard led with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.  He also had 5 blocks, helping the defense hold the Jazz to 40% shooting.  A good all-around game by the Magic last night.

Dwight Howard is having another outstanding year for the Orlando Magic

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 15 December 2009 at 12:58 pm

If Dwight Howard could only hit 70% of his free throws he would be the most dominating force on the inside in the NBA. Howard has played in 24 games (all starts) for the Magic this season and he is averaging 34.3 minutes, 18.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.0 blocked shots per game. Howard is hitting 63.3% from the floor which is incredible as he has really worked on his offensive game but next up for him to work on is his free throw shooting as he is only hitting 58.4% from the charity stripe.
